1. Who we are and what this site does

Solar Strategies ("we", "us") runs solarstrategies.co.uk. We give independent advice on commercial solar. We are not an installer, a funder or a contractor, because we only give advice. We are not linked to, backed by or acting for any government scheme, regulator, installer or funder.

This website gives general information. It is not advice on your own project, although it may help you prepare for it. Please do not act on it without checking how it applies to you, since every site is different.

2. Acceptable use

You may only use this site lawfully and in line with these terms. You must not:

  • copy or harvest data from the site in bulk without our written consent;
  • send false or misleading details through any form;
  • use the site to build a rival service or database;
  • interfere with how the site works or how secure it is; or
  • use the site to send spam, malware or other harmful code.

We may block access if we have good reason to think someone has broken these terms.

3. Advisory services and third parties

Any advice, model or estimate we give is our opinion. It rests on the facts we have and the assumptions we state at the time. Payback, yield and cost figures are forecasts, not promises, because the future can differ.

Any contract to supply, fit, fund or maintain a solar system is between you and that other party. Please make your own checks before you sign, while you can still walk away. Paid work for you, however, comes under a separate written agreement.

4. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows:

  • we exclude all implied warranties and conditions;
  • we are not liable for any indirect or knock-on loss, or for pure economic loss, such as lost savings, income or data;
  • our total liability linked to this website is limited to £100. Liability for paid work is set by the separate agreement for that work; and
  • nothing here limits liability for death or injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not let us exclude.

5. Intellectual property

The text, design, images and code on solarstrategies.co.uk belong to Solar Strategies or are used under licence. However, other firms' names and marks belong to them. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not copy, share or adapt them for other uses without our written consent.

6. Links to third-party sites

We link to other sites, such as HMRC, Ofgem and GOV.UK, so you can check our sources. We do not run those sites, though, so we are not responsible for what they say or how they handle data.

7. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. When we do, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. If you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply, even if you have not read them.

8. Governing law and jurisdiction

The law of England and Wales governs these terms. The courts of England and Wales can hear any dispute about them, though not only those courts.
